Charlotte Farrell

Violin • Piano
Charlotte Farrell teaches fiddle, classical violin, and piano to children and adults of all ages. She
is fluent in many styles of fiddling including bluegrass, old time, Western swing, Texas-style,
celtic, blues, jazz, and rock.
She works with each individual student to find music that inspires them, and build the techniques
necessary to play that music. She crafts fun exercises and practice strategies so that her students
can achieve their musical goals. Lessons in her studio include a strong emphasis on
improvisation and learning by ear as well as sheet music reading.
Charlotte graduated from NYU with a bachelors’ degree in Violin Performance and minors in
Journalism and the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. She has studied with
Tammy Rogers, Hanneke Cassel, Mark Mutter, Gabe Bolkosky, and Paula Elliot.
She is certified in both the Suzuki Method (Books 1-3) and the Mark O'Connor Method (Books I
and II), and she is a member of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA).
