Parker Grissom
Parker Grissom is a multi-instrumental musician with a deep-rooted passion for drums, guitar, and bass, influenced by iconic rock bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. He started his musical journey at the age of 7 or 8 and has since gained extensive experience touring and recording with various bands, alongside earning a degree in Music Technology from Wayne State University. Parker has a rich history of teaching at multiple music academies, including where he first fell in love with music—the School of Rock in Rochester.
Parker’s teaching philosophy is centered around making music fun, fostering an environment where students look forward to practicing because they enjoy their experiences during lessons. He specializes in modern, rock, and pop music, with a particular affinity for genres like punk, emo, hardcore, as well as groovier sounds like pop, soul, and indie.
One of Parker’s proudest achievements is seeing his students form bands and excel musically, continuing the cycle of passion and performance that he cherishes. He believes music is a tool for continual personal improvement and curiosity, and he aims to instill these values in his students, encouraging them to always strive for personal and musical growth.
