Ken started playing piano at age 5, played music all through middle school, mainly percussion, and high school, piano and trumpet. He earned a full ride scholarship to Wayne State University playing trumpet studying jazz. He soon began playing professionally locally before landing a touring gig with The Atomic Fireballs. Shortly after that he was able to play with the legendary Maynard Ferguson's band. For a while Ken worked as a trumpeter on Carnival Cruise Lines before returning back to the Metro Detroit area and playing with many bands locally and nationally. Ken has a vast knowledge of what it takes to be able to play the instrument at a very high level and also has knowledge of all brass instruments.
